When originally offered back in 2005, the destinations visited along the route were truly off the beaten path of most Western travelers. In the years since, many of these cities and towns have become important cultural and economic centers that still retain the charm they have always had.

Guests will explore the highlights of Southern China, Myanmar/Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, all the while witnessing authentic rituals of daily life as it happens on the river. With Western tour leaders as well as English-speaking local guides, no question will go unanswered and the beauty, history and activities of the people and places will come alive.

From traditional villages to bustling capitals, from ancient temples to modern palaces, pass through or along the borders of six countries on everything from a 34-foot cruise boat to a local long-tail boat. The only tour of its kind, the Journeys Within Ultimate Mekong Experience is an exploration into culture, tradition and history, all with the comfort and safety of the preeminent Southeast Asia experts on the planet. We are proud to reoffer this epic journey and invite you to come and experience the Mekong.
