Once the noise and excitement of Bangkok starts to get oppressive, head to the dock where you’ll board a beautiful wooden boat for a peaceful overnight sail to Ayuthaya, the ancient Thai capital. See the many ruins and enjoy this peaceful glimpse into the past.
Your last visit is to Kanchanaburi, the rural province west of Bangkok that boasts jungle, elephants and the infamous bridge over the River Kwai. Take this tour and see a new age capital, an ancient city and top it all off with an adventure!
Day 1 Bangkok - Arrival
Arrive on your flight.
Arrive in Bangkok where you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Bangkok - City Tour
Your guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning and take you to visit the Grand Palace, the pride of Thailand, where you will also see the Emerald Buddha and the Reclining Buddha of Wat Pho. Enjoy a 30-minute traditional massage before having lunch at a local restaurant. Relax as you take a boat ride through the klongs and canals of Bangkok seeing local life as well as visiting Wat Arun. In the late afternoon take a walk through the beautiful flower market and watch the sunset from the famous Golden Mountain.

Day 3 Bangkok - Exotic Siam Cruise Day 1
Your guide will meet you and take you to Jim Thompson's House. Now a museum this traditional teakwood house is just as Jim Thompson left it before he mysteriously disappeared in the Cameron Highlands of Western Malaysia. After your tour enjoy lunch at the Jim Thompson's House restaurant.
After lunch you will join fellow travelers for an exotic Siam Cruise. Start cruising up the Chao Phraya River enjoying spectacular views of the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn. Just after sunset the boat will dock at Wat Kai Tia, a Thai temple set in a peaceful rural village. An exquisite Thai dinner is served on deck. Spend the night on board in your air-conditioned cabin.

Day 4 Bangkok - Exotic Siam Cruise Day 2
After breakfast on deck depart for Bang Pa In where your guide will take you to visit the Summer Palace. Continue by longtail boat to the ancient capital of Ayuthaya. After lunch at a local restaurant visit the ruins of the once glorious capital destroyed by the Burmese. In the late afternoon an air-conditioned minibus will take you back to your hotel in Bangkok.

Day 5 Bangkok - Day at Leisure

Day 6 Bangkok - The River Kwai Day 1
You will be met at your hotel at 6:30 am and taken by minivan to Kanchanaburi. When you arrive, visit the World War II museum and cemetery as well as the infamous bridge over the River Kwai. Take the original “death railway train” to Nan-Tok station, the last terminal station of the Thai-Burma railway. Have lunch at local restaurant and then continue by longtail boat to the River Kwai Jungle Rafts, a floating hotel with no electricity, but beautiful surroundings and basic, but clean facilities (there is an on-land hotel option as well). After settling in take a tour of the local Mon Village and take an elephant ride through the jungle around the village. In the evening have a delicious dinner and enjoy a traditional Mon dance performance.

Day 7 The River Kwai Day 2 - Bangkok
After breakfast check out of your floatel and take a bamboo raft down the Kwai Noi River. You will be met at the pier by your van and taken to visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial,a powerful and well done museum that explains more about the death railway and the men that built it. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Bangkok by private air-conditioned vehicle.

Day 8 Bangkok - Departure
You will be transferred to Bangkok Airport for flight.
