Get out of the car and start touring! Laos is a wonderful country to explore under your own steam so in this 8-day tour we encourage you to paddle, trek and boat your way to new and exciting experiences. The kayaking on the Nam Song will be through stunning scenery and landscape, the trekking in Luang Prabang will introduce you to people and cultures so different from your own and boating on the Mekong will allow you to relax and soak up the calm and peaceful atmosphere in Laos. Day 1 - Vientiane - Arrival

Arrive in Vientiane where you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Settha Palace Hotel. Take a guided city tour including Hor Prakeo, Wat Sisaket, That Luange, and Pra Tou Chai.

Day 2 - Vientiane - Vang Vieng

Enjoy an overland drive to Vang Vieng District which is known for its beautiful landscape.  On the way stop at interesting sites in Vang Sang and visit the Tan Chang Cave.  Spend the night at the Riverside Resort.

Day 3 - Vang Vieng - Kayaking

At 9:00am transfer to the Nam Song River for four hours of kayaking through stunning scenery. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the riverbank. In the evening watch the sunset in the Nam Song Valleys. Return to the Riverside Resort.

Day 4 - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang

Continue by air-conditioned car to Luang Prabang. Have the afternoon at leisure exploring Luang Prabang and don't miss the night market.

Day 5 - Luang Prabang - Trekking Day 1

You will be met at your hotel by your guide and driven to the starting point of your trek.  From here head into the hills of Laos. Visit the three distinct hill tribe groups of Laos. Your guide will tell you about the different tribes and explain their different cultures and traditions.  You will spend the night at a hill tribe homestay and enjoy dinner cooked by your hosts.

Day 6 - Luang Prabang - Trekking Day 2

Continue walking through the stunning scenery visiting villages along the way.  In the afternoon return by longtail boat to Luang Prabang.

Day 7 - Luang Prabang - Day on the Mekong

After breakfast, take a longtail boat crossing to the right bank of the Mekong and the pottery making village of Ban Han. From here take a thirty minute walk to Wat Long Khoune village. Another boat will take you from here up river to the rice-wine distilling village of Ban Sang Hai followed by a visit to the Pak Ou caves famous for miniature statues of Buddha. Return to Luang Prabang by longtail boat in the late afternoon.

Day 8 - Luang Prabang - Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
