How can you not love a hotel dedicated to the protection and support of elephants! The Anantara Resort has put into place great policies to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and they have some innovative ideas, that if they are able to realize will get them to Nirvana soon.
My favorite program is that every room will have a seedling on the balcony at guests arrival and they are invited to take the hotel shuttle to nearby land to plant the seedling. Sure this isn't going to bring back the rainforest, but it helps to remind us that just because we're at a hotel doesn't mean we should forget about the environment. I was impressed with the policies the Resort has in place to train and support their staff and to help decrease their carbon footprint, I think the next step is seeing how well it all gets implemented.
